MY FAMILY TREE

A family tree is a visual representation that shows the family relationships across different generations. Its main purpose is to document the connections, as well as the lineage and ancestry of a person.

Main components of a family tree:

1. Individuals: Each family member is represented, usually with their name, and in some cases, with important dates such as birth, marriage, or death.

2. Lines:
Horizontal lines: Indicate marriages or unions between people.
Vertical lines: Connect parents to their children.

3. Generations:
Organized hierarchically, with ancestor (grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.) and younger generations (grandchildren, great-grandchildren) at the bottom.

4. Family relationships:
Includes parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and more complex relationships such as step-siblings or in-laws.

Uses of a family tree:
Genealogy: Researching family history and tracing ancestors.
Culture and identity: Preserving traditions and strengthening the sense of belonging.

Medicine: Identifying hereditary patterns of diseases.
The family tree is not only a practical tool but also a meaningful way to keep family stories and connections alive.
